Observation: Agaricaceae sp. Chevall. (14223)
About Agaricaceae Chevall.
When: 2008-11-14
Collection location: Larch Mountain, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]
Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Believe this was found on wood, but could have been terrestrial; cap dull orange-brown, similar to Gomphidius, but with a somewhat radially-wrinkled cap perhaps 1 inch in diameter, bell-shaped; gills white to golden, slightly descending the stipe; stipe is brittle, perhaps 3 inches long, but broke before I could pull it; about 3mm diameter at the break. Thought this was a young chanterelle, but gills too pronounced for most chanterelles in this area, and it was at too low an elevation to be Yellow-foot chanterelle.
