Summary: this MIGHT be the same as the button that I depicted…

but it’s tough to tell just what that button will grow up to be, and that weird spore drop was no help at all! ;)

I have a whole series of this (as does Darvin), young to old, from SP…I’ll find the sighting and photo and reference it.

This gemmata-esque amanita is common at SP, and has been called exannulata in the past, but looking at the Thiers photo of that species in the Agaricales, it doesn’t appear to be that one at all.

Here’s another link to it: http://mushroomobserver.org/13905?q=2rZe

Summary: compare 58898

Compare with 58898. Good find in the archival past, Christian.
