Summary: Hi Rod,

You are very welcome to use the images and I am sorry that I haven’t got round to sending you any dried specimens yet, I have carefully dried and stored all of the species that you are interested in and will send them in the near future!
Regards,
Michael:)

Summary: Eh

You already have his permission — the images are CC by-sa so you’d just have to make your 250-pixel versions CC by-sa. :)

Summary: Desire to use some images on Amanita Studies web site

Dear Michael,

These photographs are very, very, very nice.

May I have your permission to select some to use in my 250 pixel high format on the Amanita Studies web site?

Also, let me say that there are several mycologists now collaborating on trying to organize a hypothetical systematic subdivision of Amanita sect. Amanita. At the moment, Dr. Yang is reviewing a first draft attempt focused mostly on the clamp-bearing species. Mushroom Observer has played a provocating role in this process because of the question “What is a muscarioid species of Amanita?” which came up in one of the on-line exchanges on MO. Amanita nehuta will play a significant role in linking species that now reside on separate continents and islands. It would be of great help if material of A. nehuta were collected, if dried material were retained and shared with the “sect. Amanita” project through material sent to Dr. Yang (in Yunnan, China) or to myself. Indeed this observation goes for any material of sect. Amanita from places that are not likely to be well represented in N. American or Chinese herbaria.

Wonderful shots.

Very best,

Rod
