Summary: Thanks Rod

I posted this last year
http://mushroomobserver.org/12367?search_seq=573515
which is a little grayer, I do agree that it is redder then normal for V3.

I’ll collect some and dry it…

Summary: Hi

The cap seems too reddish for V3. Amanita sp. V3 is the most common of the taxa that have been called “A. ceciliae” in the eastern US. It is normally a somewhat grayish brown, with color saturation varying. Still in Texas.

R.

Summary: it’s on RET’s site here

http://eticomm.net/~ret/amanita/key.dir/am_gsmnp.html

it’s the 43 species listed, Amanita V3. (I will probably always call it V3)

my collection has a light colored stipe, don’t know what that means… Rod will have to review it and let us know. (I also like how he came up with the name borealisorora)
