Observation: Cantharellus sp. Adans. ex Fr. (23098)
About Cantharellus Adans. ex Fr.
When: 2009-07-10
Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]
Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Looks like very young yellowish Cantharellus. There were two of these, a centimeter across at most, on the ground at the side of a slope in Zone 48 near the Zone 50 transition. Close by in Zone 48 is a large group of the chanterelles seen all over the place (now some are even growing in the middle of a footpath!) but these seem to be slightly different (paler) in color. They may turn out to be the same, but at a younger stage of development, or something, though.
