Observation: Boletus edulis Bull. (23126)
About Boletus edulis Bull.
Public Description (default) [Edit]
Draft for 2008/2009 EOL University Species Pages Initiative by Lauren Z (private)
When: 2009-07-11
Collection location: Wyoming Co., Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]
Who: Dave in NE PA
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Weird to find B. edulis in the habitat where these two small buttons grew… a rocky piced of wooded land with a fast moving stream on one side and a runnoff gulley on the other, which seperated this “island” from the main forest. Lots of big hemlock and some Whie Pine in the main forest. But on this island mostly small birch and small sycamore, plus a few very small hemlock and one small White Pine.

[admin – Sat Aug 14 02:19:01 +0000 2010]: Changed location name from ‘Wyoming County, PA, USA’ to ‘Wyoming Co., Pennsylvania, USA
