Notes: Solitary specimen found in abandoned/overgrown lawn near deciduous forest.

Cap: Grey, irregularly lobed, convoluted, and saddle-shaped.

Stem: White/light-grey, fluted, deeply and ornately ribbed.

Helvella sp. looks promising, although any images I can find exhibit caps with distinctly darker appearances.

Recognized by sight: While H. lacunosa often has a dark charcoal cap, when young it can be nearly white. It can also be white when parasitized by Clitocybe sclerotoidea. This specimen is not parasitized.
