Notes: It looks like I have to add yet another unknown(to me) Amanita from the Big Thicket area. It doesn’t seem to match anything I can find in my references or Rod’s Tx list. Apparently in the sect. Caesareae with inamyloid spores and lacking a bulb but having an annulus.
They had caps about 7 cm across and up to 10.2 cm stipes. Striations on the grayish tan cap were about 0.5cm.
The spores shown in Congo red were interesting and were ~ 12 X 6.5 microns with a fair amount of variation.

Summary: Added Rod’s alteration of spore picture

in which he,(as done in #26313), estimates Q values based simply by measuring, on the enlarged photo, the ratios of the lengths over the widths of various spores. He also notes some possibilities based on the results. Thanks Rod
