Notes: It looks like I have to add yet another unknown(to me) Amanita from the Big Thicket area. It doesn’t seem to match anything I can find in my references or Rod’s Tx list. Apparently in the sect. Caesareae with inamyloid spores and lacking a bulb but having an annulus.
They had caps about 7 cm across and up to 10.2 cm stipes. Striations on the grayish tan cap were about 0.5cm.
The spores shown in Congo red were interesting and were ~ 12 X 6.5 microns with a fair amount of variation.
