Notes: This a white tooth shaped fungi was growing in a forrest of oaks, hickory with a few beech and white dogwood trees. I found it growing on a rotting tree probably a hickory tree possibly an oak. I have walked past this same downed tree several times in previous forays to this forrest. This is the first time I noticed it growing there. Some of the images show it is growing from with in a cavity of the log the growth is close to ground level. Perhaps that is why I hadn’t seen it until today Oct 10th 09.
