if you can remember, would you describe the smell as that of chloroseptic? i’ve found a number of vaguely similar, odorous Tyromyces that have resisted 100% identification.

When i came across this i could smell it before i found it. I thought i was n a fruit orchard with fermenting fruit somewhere to be found. then came across this log that just permeated the air. The Texture of this fungi very soft taste not at all as it smell but bitter. It leaves like a cheesy slimy substance on your hands after touching it then turns red where ever you touched it. Real RED like it is bleeding. The smell stays on your hands, took me about 5 times to get that smell off my hands.

I don’t know what it is, but it reminds more of a Trametes, maybe infested by Cistella/Hyphodiscus?
