Notes: This isn’t like any A. phalloides I’ve seen before but I can’t find anything else that it might be. You can see that the stipe bruised yellow green when handled, so did the gills and the flesh of the cap when cut. The gills looked slightly decurrent to me. I supposed they could be described as adnexed. The volva has reddish brown stains on it and the “skin” peeled off pretty easily. The volva was very fragile and I found two groups of these in two different locations, one in association with Coast Live Oak (Q. agrifolia), the other with Black Oak (Q. kelloggii), Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii and Bay (Umbellularia californica). All were slender and small. The cap on this one was 4.7cm. The margin of the pileus was not striate.

Rod Tulloss has a description that matches pretty well on his web site although he describes the yellow green tints of the cap and gills as unchanging. It may be that I didn’t notice the tint in the gills until I cut the cap in half crosswise, likewise the flesh of the cap.
