Observation: Russula sp. Pers. (31648)
About Russula Pers.
Public Description (default) [Edit]
When: 2010-01-08
Collection location: Alpharetta, Georgia, USA [Click for map]
Who: Aaron (Amanita persicina)
No herbarium specimen

Notes: This large Russula species starts to fruit in the fall and continues into the early winter, right along with the blewits.

I have often found this species around blewits if that helps, there is some yellow/brownish staining on the stipe and gills.

Mycohunter/Weiliiiiiii collection.
