Notes: In park near creek, under oaks, near pine. While fairly dry, there are bits of veil tissue on the cap margin. Large cap 4 cm, stalk 7 cm.

Summary: This is a similar species…

Leratiomyces percevalii, which we used to call Stropharia riparia.
It has a much less shaggy stipe than that of S. ambigua, and a dry cap. S. ambigua has a viscid, paler and solidly yellow (less orange), less pointed cap, with persistent, thick cottony-membranous veil remnants on the margin.
