Notes: The spiny spores, ampullate septa and general resupinate habit are typical for the genus. The size of the spores 3.2 X 2.5 is right for the species complex. I sent images and measurements to Karl-Henrik Larrson, who works on this group and here is what he said:
“Seeing your photos with the rather crowded hymenophore spines, reminds me mostly about a version of Trechispora farinacea that grows on hardwood in wet places and that I think is a species separate from T. farinacea s.s.”
This collection was on oak (I think) and came from the first bridge on the horse trail during very wet weather, so the habitat that Larrson mentions is almost perfect. The size of the basidia 22 X 3.8 seems unusually long.
