Summary: Thank you, Debbie

I didn’t doubt this micaceus, and I think that most of the other 67 obses are micaceus as well, but there are a few other lookalikes in this group, and without microscopy (or at least when the cystidia on the stem haven’t been checked), I also beleive that other species could have slipped through unnoticed.

Summary: here you go, Irene…:)

mitriform spores and long, spiculose caulocystidia.

Coprinellus micaceus it is.

Summary: Coprinellus micaceus

It would be nice to see a picture of mitriform spores (and the long, lageniform caulocystidia). That should beat all the other 67 obses of micaceus that don’t show them :-)

Summary: closest simple photo match, so far…

altho the white cap margin is unusual, and the stipe is a bit robust for that species. also, only a single fruit body.

still in the genus only zone, tho, until further confirmation.

Why specifically micaceus?
