Observation: Ischnoderma resinosum (Fr.) Karst (4434)
About Ischnoderma resinosum (Fr.) Karst
Public Description (default) [Edit]
Draft for 2008/2009 EOL University Species Pages Initiative by Justin Beams (private)
When: 2005-11-08
Collection location: Elgin Co., Ontario, Canada [Click for map]
Who: Rex (Rex Bartlett)
Herbarium specimen available

Notes: I’ve seen these fruiting on a stump for many years now, and only this year noticed them when they are young. Their resinous qualities at that stage made it easier to identify.
I read that younger specimens are edible. I shall have a go next season.
