Observation: Nolanea hirtipes (Schumach.) P. Kumm. (4520)
About Nolanea hirtipes (Schumach.) P. Kumm.
When: 2007-10-25
Collection location: Pollock Pines, El Dorado Co., California, USA [Click for map]
Who: Ron Pastorino (Ronpast)
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found in mixed woods. I’m not completely confident in this id due to the difficulty in finding a complete and consistent reference. However, the silky appearance, colorations, spore size and shape, copious white basal mycelium and rather unpleasant odor make it seem a fit.
