this snow-melt mycena is not only distinctive because of its great size, but because of its extremely fuzzy “foot”, as Mike depicted in his thumbnail. They also commonly have a prominant umbo, although that feature is not depicted in this collection.
BTW Mike, you need to change your Mycena “overholtzii” (sic) spelling on Mykoweb. Dr. Overholts spelled his name with an s not a z. ;)
