Observation: Russula sp. Pers. (50792)
About Russula Pers.
Public Description (default) [Edit]
When: 2010-08-19
Collection location: Blacksburg, Virginia, USA [Click for map]
Who: Mark Prosser (mark prosser)
No herbarium specimen

Notes: I’m guessing a wart cleansed Amanita rubescens but would like confirmation or correction. There’s always my beginner’s hope that it’s something more exotic but appreciate the experience and knowledge on M.O..
These colorful specimens were found amidst tall pines. Thanks, Mark

Recognized by sight: Something about the stipe surface texture, cap color, and lack of any veil remnants (at all, as far as I can tell)
