I thought Entoloma subgenus Leptonia sect. Cyanula stirps Roseum (maybe Roseotinctae)

I remember you ID’ed these on the Shroomery, and I remember there was a ‘rose’ somewhere in the name but it’s not on the database here. Do you by any chance remember what it was?

E. catalaunicum is less truly rosy (by virtue of duller, dark scales on the cap), and often has a darker band around the edge.

I didn’t notice how crowded the gills were.

Long story short, I am trying to document all the mushroom species (I would say fungi but that’s very broad) in this area. Tribals say there are 160 species of mushrooms, this is a definite understatement. They also say there is no list of mushrooms on the Periyar reserve that they know at – to make one that can be used as a base is my goal.

I have never seen anything like these before.

EDIT: The picture you attached of E. roseum doesn’t look much like it, the gills are too distant as well.

in the middle of the cap is very pronounced. Have you found these before? If so, do they always have such a large umbo?
