This shot was taken a little while back but I have another one out there now. It’s on the other side of life but if there is something I can glean from it for you I will certainly try. Thanks for the information the other day, by the way.

Can you give us a feeling for the diameter of the cap (for example)?
It looks like the stem is totally elongating (no bulb) and has both a somewhat graying, skirt-like annulus, and a proportionately small saccate volva. The cap is basically brown and even with the cap fully expanded, the marginal striations are not very long. The species should belong in Amanita section Caesarea. A good possibility might be A. spreta…or something similar. Amanita murrilliana (with somewhat similar cap coloring) is not known to have a graying annulus.
