Observation: Psilocybe weilii Guzmán, Stamets & F. Tapia (51941)
About Psilocybe weilii Guzmán, Stamets & F. Tapia
Public Description (default) [Edit]
When: 2010-09-02
Collection location: North Hall Co., Georgia, USA [Click for map]
Who: northgahunt
No herbarium specimen

Notes: I ran across this particular group of mushrooms during a hunt. At first I believed it to be psilocybe weilii, but now have second thoughts. There was something about the characteristics that seemed off to me.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge on the subject matter, I will do my best to provide information that will help me get a positive identification.

Habitat, found in a small washout area growing in a briar batch.

Caps, are a silvery blue depending on light. They seem to be more symetrical in shape compared to weilii.

Stipes, broke easier than weilii and seemed to be hollow. They bruised blue.

Is there anyway that this may be Psilocybe caerulescens var. caerulescens instead of Psilcybe Weilii?

Can anyone tell me how I could know for sure?
