Observation: Agaricus sp. L. (537)
About Agaricus L.
Public Description (default) [Edit]
When: 2001-05-12
Collection location: Barton Flats, San Bernardino National Forest, San Bernardino Co., California, USA [Click for map]
Who: Nathan Wilson (nathan)
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found in the San Bernardino mountains in San Bernardino County, California. Seems to be close to Agaricus bitorquis, but the shaggy pileus and large size makes me hesitant to apply that name. No staining reaction was noticed and they were very solid as is typical of A. bitorquis. They were too young to find any mature spores.
