Habitat: Very steep northeast oriented mountain slope, primary mixed forest with dominant Picea abies and Fagus sylvatica, calcareous ground, humid place, mostly in shade, partly protected from direct rain by tree canopies, average precipitations ~ 3.000 mm/year, average temperature 5-7 deg C, elevation 790 m (2.600 feet), alpine phytogeographical region.

Substratum: fallen rotten log of a large Picea abies fully overgrown with mosses

Place: Bovec basin, east slopes of Mt. Kopa, 1.439 m (4.720 feet), East Julian Alps, Mt. Kanin mountain group, Posočje, Slovenia EC

Comments: 3 – 4.5 cm (1.2 – 1.8 inch) wide cups. Spore print white.

Based on microscopic features: Spore dimensions: 6,6 (SD = 0.4) x 5,6 (SD = 0.3) micr., Q = 1.21 (SD = 0.06), n = 30. Motic B2-211A, magnification 1.000 x, oil, in water.
Based on chemical features: Smell indistinctive, may be slightly on fish.
