Notes: These were rather small, up to 4.6 cm wide.
They were growing on the ground @ ~ 4700 ft near mixed conifers.
The spores were basically globose, ~ 4.0-5.0 microns and appeared smooth @ 1000X.
The capillitium may be showing some slit-like pores but I’m not totally clear on that concept.
They don’t seem to quite fit into the usual choices for California montane puffballs.
