Notes: For some these common enough for the weekend, for many, not so much. Mostly these were found with black oak at this time, but the forests were mixed oak and conifer, so this might not be a clear association.

I add the third photo, which is a bad messed up example, just for the reason that the stipe displays red tones and patches in age. This one was mild tasting, and found with other B. regius, so there is a strong reason to believe this is the correct species. But this one shows that in age, the cap develops brown colors and the stipe can develop red patches.
