Summary:
What a lovely color of green!
I call this species the Chameleon Hygrocybe, since it has such a confusing array of changeable colors. Fruiting seasons are also confusing when we have the whole world at our fingertips…it’s always mushroom season, somewhere.
Our local CA fungi are resting until the rains this Fall, which is why I am heading back East for the month of July!

To tell the truth this is the first time I have come across it. The Audubon states June- September, December-February in California.

We usually see this species in December and January in California. Is July typical for New York?
