Recognized by sight: if gills are very thick, then R. nigricans, if thinner, a few more possibilities like R. densifolia. Flesh color change first reddish then black or immediately black?

If you find a Russula with first reddening and then blacking flesh and spaced, thick gills then only R. nigricans is possible. The only thing that speaks against that identification is that the photo is a little bit out of focus.
