Observation 10031: Tuber oregonense Trappe, Bonito & P. Rawl.

This is part of a commercial collection of Tuber oregonense taken at Paul Bishop’s Tree Farm on Jan 17, 2003. The truffles have been washed in a colander to remove excess soil and humus, and allowed to air-dry for 5-10 minutes before this photo was taken. Note the reddish tints to the peridium. In T. gibbosum, the peridium is typically yellowish tint after washing.
