Observation 10052: Tuber P. Micheli ex F.H. Wigg.
When: 2002-02-12
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Since Tuber rufum has been absorbed into Tuber lyoni, there is now need for creating a new name for truffles which do not have an apical pore leading into the gleba, but have a rosy- or reddish-colored interior. As these photos prove, such a truffle does exist. The sporocarp was washed before photographing, so that the mud would not obscure any apical pore which might be present.
