HABITAT hardwood forested slope between outcrop and cove forest; SUBSTRATE old oak trunk in shelter of Rhododendron; ASPECT shaded; NOTES within substrate, tiny black apothecia and pycnidia scattered; ASCOCARP flat to convex, very thin margin soon excluded, exciple composed of dark brown cellular hyphae, epihymenium dark brown, hymenium brownish, hypothecium dark brown, exciple POL+ clearing in K, exciple K+y; SPORES gray-brown, septate, smooth, walls evenly thin, ~6 × 3.5 µm, conidia oblong to rod-shaped and ~3 × 1.5 µm.
