Notes: HABITAT open hardwood forest on low northwest-sloping ridge; SUBSTRATE Quercus bark; ASPECT sunny; NOTES pale base, wrinkled and irregularly ridged and annulate cracks near base, abundant tubercles with soralia on top near base, tiny punctiform flush to slightly stipitate soralia with rare isidia toward tips, cortex thick and tough, medulla compact and white, axis whitish and half width of branch; MEDULLA K~y, C-, KC+p-rose
