HABITAT high elevation spruce-fir forest on northeast slope; SUBSTRATE Picea bark; ASPECT shaded; NOTES thin greenish lumpy crust, K+y, scattered large substipitate apothecia, margin thick even pale smooth, disk brown (few intact), epihymenium opaque POL+ clearing in K, amphithecium POL+ clearing in K with large POL+ crystals, cortex much thicker at base to 50 µm or more; SPORES 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, large, smooth, hyaline, simple, 15-16 × 8-11 µm
