Observation 101879: Camarophyllopsis Herink
When: 2012-07-15
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Found near Sunset Rest Area, growing in decaying needles and leaves.

Caps pink-brown. Gills whitish-cream, wide. Odor raphanoid.

Spores 6-8 × 3-4 microns. Couldn’t take spore print or check amyloidity of the spores with confidence. Cheilocystidia typically 40 × 15 microns. No pleurocystidia. Couldn’t see any basidia with sterigmata.

The caps look wrinkled, but the mushrooms were fresh. The cap cuticle appears gelatinous under microscope, but without separable pellicle.

I have no clue what species this might be.
