Notes: HABITAT oldgrowth chaparral and conglomerate outcrops at top of high transverse ridge; SUBSTRATE granitic cobble loose on ground; ASPECT sunny; NOTES thallus brown rimose, no prothallus, K- C+p KC+r, apothecia black disks with raised smooth even thin black rims epruinose, epihymenium and exciple of swollen brown-tipped cells, spores with even-thickened but not thin walls at all stages of development; SPORES 12-13 × 6-7 µm or thereabouts.

Options: badia (parasite); concinna (pale, xanthones); disciformis (wood); eganii (pale, immersed); subdisciformis (pale, K+ too); uberior (gray, immersed)
