Notes: HABITAT oldgrowth chaparral and conglomerate outcrops at top of high transverse ridge; SUBSTRATE north face of conglomerate cliff; ASPECT shaded; NOTES olive-brown lumpy crust with abundant tiny globose black apothecia, epihymenium dark brown POL- turning briefly reddish in K before clearing, hymenium and hypothecium hyaline, algae and hyphae POL+ clearing in K, C+p fleeting in section, paraphyses hard to separate in water but easy to separate in K, asci tiny with pale KI+blue walls and strongly KI+blue square tip with no sign of channel or other structure?; SPORES 8 per ascus, fusiform, hyaline, smooth, 1-3-septate, 10-12 × 2.5 µm, KI-.
