Notes: HABITAT oldgrowth chaparral and conglomerate outcrops at top of high transverse ridge; SUBSTRATE north face of conglomerate cliff; ASPECT shaded; NOTES scattered dull light brown areoles, K- C- KC- UV- 350-375nm, 1-5 dark red-brown sunken small apothecia in each areole, epihymenium red-brown POL-, cortex margin brown POL- but hyaline POL- within, algal layer conspicuously jagged, medulla finely POL+ in areas, hymenium hyaline POL-, hypothecium brownish POL-; SPORES many per ascus, ~4 × 1.5 µm.
