Stem and context quickly staining sky blue where damaged.

We ate these, and they were very good.

Comarostaphylis arbutoides in vicinity? That plant is related to Madrone and manzanita, and assoicates with L. monticola at high elevation in Costa Rica. Oak may or may not be present in those montane habitats in C.R.
