growing in patches of dried up patches of moss near garden, small mushrooms (3-4 inches tall), yellowish stalks, reddish caps

Recognized by sight: growing in the grass. typically rubellus is only found in the woods, later in the summer or in autumn. they’re virtually identical otherwise, so i should really consider using a microscope in the future.
