If you found flakes, it probably isn’t fools gold, aka pyrite. Pyrite is typically cubical in form, and shatters instead of flaking.
Digging around in the river under rocks and ‘unearthed’ a large amount of black sand. Loaded it all up in buckets and brought it home to pan through. I found a lot of flakes but haven’t got the magnet out to see if it’s fool’s gold or real though.
I found a lot of rose quart also.
I’ve wanted to get to Bohemia for a different reason. Finding any gold and minerals while you are there?
Also the context was cheesy and white. There were many of these fruiting from old growth western hemlock snags and stumps.
