Observation 102939: Kuehneromyces mutabilis (Schaeff.) Singer & A.H. Sm.
When: 2012-07-24
No herbarium specimen

Notes: The same log as observation (102684). The lower portion of the cut face of the log held Stemonitis that looked to have taken over this observation’s fruiting bodies.

Proposed Names

Recognized by sight: gills seem wrong for Galerina. brown spores, growth on conifer, presence of ring.
28% (1)
Recognized by sight: Need to pull out a couple good ones, and photograph the gills and stipes better, it is hard to tell much with mostly just dried out caps. But in the 6th photo you can kinda see a stipe with scales below the veil ring, which would make it a good chance of being Kuehneromyces mutabilis.
