Notes: HABITAT base of north face of large noncalcareous outcrop; SUBSTRATE soil; ASPECT shaded; NOTES thallus thin brown lumpy ~shiny very hard, K- C- KC- even in section, coarse granular green soredia in punctate mounds to excavate, apothecia abundant adnate, rim black thick even smooth raised, disk black epruinose flat small, epihymenium dark brown from pigment caps of paraphyses POL- K- C-, exciple similar to exciple POL-, hypothecium dark brown, paraphyses with abruptly swollen cells at tips with pigmented caps; SPORES 8 per ascus, hyaline to gray to brown, round lumina and slightly constricted?, ~15 × 7 µm.
