Notes: HABITAT non-calcareous rock outcrop; SUBSTRATE rock; ASPECT shaded; NOTES thallus very thick rough verruculose minutely effigurate white to creamy, cortex K+y C- KC- UV- (350nm and 375nm), medulla white K+y/rose C- KC+rose/reddish UV- or UV+pale yellow (350nm), apothecia uncommon ~1mm thick adnate, rims thick and Ochrolechia-like thalline, disk heavily white-pruinose UV- C-, thick cortex or algae-free later in rim above discontinuous clumps of algae throughout rim and under hymenium, medulla POL+ K+y clearing a bit in K, epihymenium K+y POL+ clearing mostly in K, hymenium hyaline POL- K- K/I-, hypothecium hyaline, paraphyses simple slightly expanded at tips not branched separating easily in K, asci with even K/I- walls and thick K/I+ blue tip with broad K/I- canal broadening toward center and some with K/I- thickening at very tip; SPORES 8 per ascus, hyaline, appearing simple but apparently mostly if not all 1-septate easily visible in K, ellipsoid, hyaline, smooth, 14-15 × 8-10 µm.
