Observation 103187: Cantharellus Adans. ex Fr.

When: 2012-07-28

Collection location: Clear Brook, Lincoln, New Hampshire, USA [Click for map]

Who: Andy Pond and Susie Albert (andysusie)

No specimen available

You can se by the photos that these mushrooms are growing generally scattered, NOT on a stump, on the ground near hardwoods. No particular smell. Spore print looked white on a black sheet of paper.

Note: This is our first posting on this site, I apologize in advance for any errors in presentation.

When I tried to enter “Chanterelle” or “Cantharellus cibarius” from the guide the website gave me a “deprecated” notice. No idea what that means, will read the FAQs later.

Mainly we’d like to know if this is an edible chanterelle!

Many thanks
