Notes: In mixed hardwood/conifer forrest. Pores yellow, flesh white, immutable but turning a bit pink near the cap. Found in conjunction with similar specimens with white pores.

Recognized by sight: pinkish zones are characteristic for variety and often also in other king boletes. Sometimes they can be deduced to environmental pollutions. Larch is of no importance, so partner is oak.

It was located in a mixed oak / larix area, rigorously 50% of each :(
My doubts come from the yellow tubes for young specimens and the flesh turning slowly pink near the cap. My field guides do not seem to mention this for B. edulis (Bon does mention pinkish flesh though).
