This would be a dandy example of early colonization by Hypomyces chrysospermus.

Can you see the light white fuzz in the lower section of the pores? This quickly will cover the entire spore-bearing area, transfer to the stipe and the cap, and effectively mummify the complete mushroom.

It is quite common during warm, wet summers and falls.
