Probably either A. volvata or A. pseudovolvata. The larger one is about 3.5 inches tall. Mixed hardwoods with hemlock. No oak.

It’s very difficult when you get a large pseudovolvata or a small volvata.

Degree of flocculence on the upper stipe is higher in volvata; marginal striations show up fastest and are longest in pseudovolvata. Microscopy is very important. Macro ID of many species in sect. Amidella is iffy after years of experience.

Upper stem pulverulent, not densely flocculose, distinctly striate margin of the caps.
