So far, no spore drop. But I did get to see a few spores under the scope by mounting a little piece of gill. The spores seen in the newly posted photo are probably smaller than they would be at maturation. But, the longest one I could find is smaller than 6 mu. So this favors squarrosoides. Also, there appears to be a lot of cystidia. Not sure if the ones seen in the photos are pleuro- or cheilo-, as the very narrow immature gills were difficult to work with.

I don’t recall these mushrooms being viscid or sticky at the time of collection. But I may not have checked.

I think they are squarrosoides. But it would be nice to see some mature spores.
