Observation 103538: Climacodon septentrionalis (Fr.) P. Karst.
When: 2012-07-01
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Found on a large fallen beech tree in heavily wooded area in northern Wisconsin. Smell was not unpleasant, Pileus was “fuzzy” and heavily toothed on cap. It was spongy and wet, even though we have not had any rain for a couple of weeks. It was quite pliable. Creamy white with light zoning. Did start to brown on aging.
