Observation 10355: Agrocybe pediades group
When: 2008-09-02
Collection location: Japan [Click for map]
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found thousands of these with other LBMs. Would love to get a positive ID. Am assuming it is conocybe based on Japanese website.

Not likely Conocybe

These don’t really look like Conocybe, which I don’t think any has a shaggy cap like that, also Conocybe tend to have very thin narrow gills, and these are fat and hang down. There are lots of Psathyrellas with shaggy caps like this, and on small woody debris, but the gills here are light tan, not quite the right color. Maybe these are Agrocybe? Afraid with unknown little brown jobs you usually need the scope to id. but with a scope you can get the id usually with enough details.

A photo of the spores alone here could probably get you to genus (maybe…).
